What is the best way to get from Hollywood to Venice beach via public transit?

We are travelling to Los Angeles for a holiday, and will not be renting a car. We're staying on Hollywood Blvd, and are wondering the best/quickest/least expensive way to get to Venice Beach.|||from hollywood/Highland you board either

212, 217 or 780 (all thse buses will take yu to Venice Blvd

(the 212 will take you to La brea/Venice

the 217/ 780 will take you to Fairfax/Venice

then transfer to line 33 or 333|||I stayed on Hollywood Blvd and got there by bus and train, easy enough to do, lots of info at the train station by Hollywood and Highland, there is also a Tourist Info booth inside the Hollywood and Highland centre, they will give you appropriate schedules etc for trains and buses.

Have a look at this site, think you might get step by step instructions here!
