Why is Hollywood the only place where good movies can be done?

I never saw a great or even good movie that has been outside of Hollywood. All other movies just suck. Why is that?|||Are you talking about the physical location or the industry?

There have been many great films shot in places other than Hollywood.

If you mean the Hollywood film industry, then yes, most good movies do come out of Hollywood, regardless of where they're filmed. (Even the Harry Potter films, mentioned above, were a product of Warner Bros, in Hollywood, which shot the film in the UK.)

Americans just have a knack for making movies. They do it well, they give the people what they want (for better or worse), and the product sells.

Even in most European nations, Hollywood films are more popular than their own local productions. Take a look at a list of the biggest films in the international box office (such as this one: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/intl/ ) and Hollywood productions are almost always at the top in every nation on earth.

Some countries, including France and China, have even put restrictions on American films, in hopes of forcing people to watch their local films. But that desperation only underlines the fact that the American films are more popular.|||that not true. lord of rings was film in new zealand. the same with hobbit. batman begins and dark knight, transformers has be film in chicago. so not every movie is film in hollywood. to be really its to much money to film in hollywood because of taxes and unions and things.|||you obviously haven't heard of movies like harry potter which were filmed in britain and have made millions of pounds how could a crap movie make so much money
