Is it difficult using public transport to get from Anaheim to Hollywood?

My partner and I coming for our first trip to LA (we're kiwis) and are staying in Anaheim opposite DL). We are planning to do the hop on hop off tour of Hollywood starting from the Chinese Theatre. What is the cheapest way to get to this point and how long would it take, we are planning on doing it on a Sunday. Also on the side what is the weather like in mid april?|||take metro 460 bus (starts at Disneyland) then take this bus all the way downtown

this takes just under 2 hour cost for $2.45)

then get off at figueroa and 7th street then you board the subway (redline) for $1.25

take the subway to Hollywood and Highland then walk one block to the chinese theater

to get your bus that routes works several days but it will take you at least 3 hours

one-way (so assuming you are going return that's another 3 hours)

(another option see about tours from your hotel|||TM's right about taking the 460 bus. You can catch it right by Disneyland. It will probably take you 3 hours to get the 35 miles to Hollywood.

Weather in mid-April is typically boring: 73F daytime, 54F at night. But bring your shorts, in case we get a hot spell. And your swimsuit, too, since the pools are always heated here in SoCal.

BTW, which hotel are you staying? Some that advertise "opposite" Disneyland are about 3/4 of a mile from the front entrance.

If you want to save an hour, you can take an Anaheim Resorts (ARTS) bus to the train station in Anaheim, then take the 9:59 Metrolink to Union Station in LA. Then take the Red Line to Hollywood %26amp; Highland.|||As an L.A. resident, I've said it before and I'll say it again: In L.A., you need a car like you need your lungs.

This city just wasn't built for walking or for public transportation. It's a car-driving town.

If you come here, and want to experience it as it should be experienced, rent a car. Get a map. And have fun.

(And L.A. weather in April is usually great. There might be an occasional rainy day, but they are relatively rare in April. Look for mostly sunny skies.)|||No not at all! In fact, due to subways, you can travel much faster and better. I wish you 'd book a hotel in Los Angeles, but Disneyland is nice for a half a day... also the bus lines take you to subway, and that is a blast. you can park rental car, or get friends to drop you at stop... call 213-626-4455 and ask them, they are aces at leading you to the right train and bus. I used to work almost 80 miles away in Norco and took the Orange line subway to the Red line to the Blue Metro Link to a little shuttle, then six blocks to my job.
