Hollywood?

I forgot the story, but it mentioned something about a long time ago there was some sort of earthquake in hollywood, and something happened to that big sign (the giant letters) HOLLYWOOD. Blah, anyone know what I'm talking about? If you do what happened exactly?|||This sign was erected in 1923 to advertise Hollywoodland real estate development. The last 4 letters (LAND) fell down in an earthquake and the rest remained to become the famous landmark that it is today. Although the sign is off limits now, you can still hike right by these letters and get some good views along the way.|||Originally, the sign was 'HollywoodLAND', but the 'land' part of the sign fell down.|||originally the sign read "HOLLYWOODLAND" advertising a new housing development but people had defaced it and changed it so many time that the "LAND" part feel off and it was changed to HOLLYWOOD|||The original owners of the land stayed with friends in hollywood florida and loved it soo much that they named their property hollywoodland.








can you imagine owning all of that land???
