How do you feel about an African-American protagonist in a Hollywood action film?

I'm an aspiring screenplay writter looking for opinions. I'm asking how Hollywood feels about a black protagonist (not ghetto, kinda like Will Smith in I am Legend) in films? I am interested in your opinions.|||Uh, this is 2009. Half the films these days have black leads.|||SOLO
