Why does Hollywood present the historical characters Achilles and Alexander the Great , as blondes ?

Isnt this kinda smell racism ?

Because few greeks and macedonians are blondes,

Is this how hollywood wants us to believe those characters are blondes ?|||I think it's because most people believe that blondes are more attractive than brunnets. Hollywood wants us to "stick" with an actor, so than we'll watch any film he plays in. And I think, one of the ways to achieve that is to give the audience what they want.

Additionally, the producers don't want to inform the audience about how those heroes actually were and what actually happened then, but rather to amuse them! That's why every movie about them ends up being only 10-20% true....|||It's not racism exactly, it's just stupid. They can't very well cast Samuel L Jackson as Achilles really could they, not if they wanted to retain any historical validity.

What really made me laugh though is when they cast a 6 foot Irishman as the 5 foot Alexander :) I guess Tom Cruise didn't want to be seen as a bisexual.|||No offense but you are being very sensitive. They may not have been able to find any one else who was a good enough actor. It isn't fair that you assume that it is racism, (Oh and btw to the first answer, people dont assume that you too are being sensitive and dramatic.)|||As a matter of fact, so does Homer. I don麓t know why.

I suppose it is possible the Dorians were blondes.
