What is Hollywood going to do when they run out of comic book characters?

Are they just going to keep remaking them? We had 2 pretty bad Hulk movies that were not related. We also had 3 terrible Spiderman movies and they are already rebooting Spiderman from the beginning. What is wrong with Hollywood, no creativity left?|||After they sponge off the comic book industries.

1. They dig into other hollywood classic Ex: The War of the Worlds, The Day the Earth Stood Still, and the upcoming Planet of the Apes.

2. They rip off oversea box offices hits Ex: Infernal Affairs (HK) / The Departed (US), Shutter (Thai) / Shutter (US), and the upcoming The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Swedish) / The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (US).

Hollywood lacks good old fashioned ingenuity, and are just plain lazy. As long as the mass media are willing to pay to watch their films, that all that matters to them.|||Creativity is there, but Hollywood does not want to risk major investments in unknowns. Comic book characters offer several pluses to the investment:

1) the characters are generally well known in advance. Spider-man, Batman and Superman are so well intergrated into American pop culture, nearly everyone knows at least something about them.

2) Many plots are already developed for the movies. Just take the early issues and the screenplay is pretty much ready to go.

3) Comicon offers a chance to hype the movie with little effort on the studio's part.

4) Most kids grow up pretending to be superheroes for a while. Some of those kids grow up into actors who get a thrill from turning their childhood pretend games into a sort of reality.|||by the way inception is not entirely original. It's pretty clearly heavily based on Dark City. A whole town/ area is created by someone thinking it, research going on while this is happening, nobody knowing that it's going on but the people that can make it change? the only difference is there are no aliens in Inception and instead of stealing people's memories through needles like dark city they steal them from a safe, and in dark city they replace the memory with something chosen much like inception is all about. in my opinion Inception has ripped off dark city.we have movies on their fourth remakes...Indie films have the creativity, hollywood always takes the safe route...Why try something new when people keep payin for the same movie four times?|||To be honest with you, people are getting sick of the comic book heroes adaptations. It is statistically proven that they aren't raking in the cash they used to (captain America may change that). But as far as creativity goes...did you not watch Avatar? Did you miss out on Shutter Island or Inception? Inception may be the most original and creative movie ever filmed. What about super 8? And who can forget the excellent Pirates of the Caribbean movies? The originality is there, you just have to find it beneath the overpromoted comic book films commercials.|||What is Hollywood going to do when they run out of comic book characters?

Well, for one, they will never run out of comic book characters. Even if the comic book industry itself were to fall apart and there would be no more comics being made anymore. There is literally an almost limitless list of comic books they could adapt into a film for the masses.

Personally, I don't have a problem with adaptations of a popular property or work. In fact, what that tells me is that the comic book or book has a proven fan base of readers. Which has the potential of being appealing and or thought provoking.

...|||Why are you acting like comic books are the only movies being made. They aren't. If you don't like them don't see them.

And if you opinion is so important and correct than why don't you go make a movie. I'm sure it will be fantastic.|||There's no likelihood of running out of comic book characters. There are thousands of comic book superheroes.

I think they should do a movie about Prime.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prime_(comi鈥?/a>|||well oppinons are interesting

but i dont agree with your reviews lol/

as for your question

there are tons of super heroes

and most these days are being done for a central reason

the Avengers|||They'll have to rely on the own creativity and original ideas, if they have any.
