How do you get to Hollywood by yourself if you are a minor?

Just out of curiosity, how would you go about leaving home to get to Hollywood by yourself if your under 18? I guess it would be considered running away. Say you only had around $30 and you wanted to get to Hollywood to pursue an acting or singing career on your own. Could you stay at a shelter or something? Where else would you stay? And could you enroll in school without a parent or an addresse? How would you get around? And would this all be possible? Just wondering, thought it was a funny concept.|||This happen to alot of young girls trying to come to Hollywood to become a star. They usually end up being someones prostitute or homeless. It is not the right way to get into entertainment industry.|||So British kids run away to London and American kids run away to Hollywood. I wonder where Iraqi kids run away to|||Get serious! If you ran away, you'd hurt people in your life, there must be people who care about you.





And get real! Runaway kids don't make it in show biz, many of them get hooked on drugs or get exploited somehow. Take an acting course, get you photos made, try some theater in your hometown. For goodness sake, running away to Hollywood is the dumbest thing you can do. They want professionals with a good resume, not some dropout runaway!!!|||ditto from the above answers. But the funny thing is, what can you do with $30.00 these days???? In one of the most expensive city in the world.





Go to school and get a good education and come to Los Angeles then.|||If you have $30.00 you can eat in McDonalds about 1 day %26amp; then in trash dumpsters out back from then on. It is not a funny concept! It is a stupid concept! Why do you think all the child porn is made there? Kids get hungry and sell (rent) themselves out.|||I am sure you have heard of the old standard that got a lot of kids, killed, molested/raped, hooked on dope, and sometimes actually got them where they wanted to go in the process: hitchhiking? I've been to several states where there were kids trying to thumb it out to Hollywood, yes, boys too. Have fed some of them even and tried to tell them to be careful and consider going home. I always thought that those kids must have had it really bad at home if they could sink to begging for food along the interstate fast food/gas stations with only a back pack and smelly clothes.





If you really think you have talents, show them off, start by doing it for free locally say anywhere they will allow you to. Someone will eventually notice and want to help you out.





If you managed to get to HW, you could walk everywhereunitl your feet blistered and legs cramped, but it isn't safe, especially at night when the professional whores (can I say that? probably politically correct to say prostitutes.....grrr) are out and don't want you in their territory. The shelters I've been to, yep, been there, asked for ID to make sure I was old enough to be there and one held it while I took a shower,as if I was going to steal something or damage something in the shower! Pretty creepy places anyway, you really don't want to go there.





NO you couldn't enroll in school unless you had a "mother" that was illegal and didn't speak English. How would you pull that off? Besides isn't school all about making an image to your peers, in addition to getting an education, of course? What would you wear and how could you pay for anything to do with school or keep your clothes if you were to get some? Street people are notorious thieves.





Even if you could buy one month's bus pass, there are people on there that would harass you and may even hurt you. You couldn't get a job right away, if at all, so even the bus pass wouldn't do you any good. Trains, same thing.





Now with cash and a lot of it, money talks and bs walks. You could bribe or pay for things and slip through the cracks for at least awhile, but knowing that you're young still, you'd be taken advantage of and lose that too.





There are youth shelters, or at least one, but they will try to find out your background too and if they can, reunite you with your parents. Shelters are temporary fixes only, you couldn't rely on it for long either. You'd end up doing nothing but trying to survive on a daily basis, battling people, weather, hunger, and trying to figure out how to get off that corner and into your own bed again.





There are enough pedophiles out there that you could probably even get one to send you a ticket or pick you up, so watch out even though you haven't even left home yet!





Why not convince your parents to vacation in So Cal instead? See it for yourself, its really not that grand, and getting a better education will help you reach your goals more quickly and with better odds. good luck with your dreams
