Based on Hollywood portrayals, is that actually what the marines do? Is that how they act? Is it similar in any way? The missions etc is real life in the marine corps similar to the way movies portray it as?|||no|||Full Metal Jacket was a reasonable presentation of boot camp except for the suicide scene. It got silly later in the movie when they were in Nam.
Heartbreak Ridge was ridicluous in the first part and a decent representation of Grenada.
