I wanna get close enough so that I can take a picture of my friend and I with the Hollywood sign right behind us, what's the best hiking trail and/ or driving directions to get to such a point? |||You'll have to hike up Mt. Lee. This will lead you to an overlook just above and behind the sign. Then to actually get down to where the letters are you have to crawl through a hole in the fence.

|||aquarius, ---I do photography so I have taken a ton of them of the sign....one of my favorites is from the parking lot of the Griffith Observatory since you are at a decent elevation and distance relative to the sign.....There are a million places you can theoretically take them, the sign can be seen from hundreds of places....You will have no trouble finding good spots. but if you are too close up, like on the hill (Mt. Lee) the elevation and distance is messed up, a longer distance shot would be better....the hill is tooooo steep....|||Drive straight up Beachwood Canyon off Franklin, then follow your nose.
